{"id":94,"date":"2009-10-23T20:10:29","date_gmt":"2009-10-23T18:10:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mandoisland.com\/wordpress_mi\/?p=94"},"modified":"2017-12-01T13:15:27","modified_gmt":"2017-12-01T11:15:27","slug":"british-pathe-historic-videos-with-mandolin-banjo-ukulele-and-guitar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mandoisland.com\/?p=94","title":{"rendered":"British Path\u00e9 &#8211; Historic videos with mandolin, banjo, ukulele and guitar"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The French ukulele site <a href=\"http:\/\/ukulele.fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ukulele.fr<\/a> pointed me today to <strong>British Path\u00e9<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>British Path\u00e9 is one of the oldest media companies, the founder of the company &#8211; Charles Path\u00e9 &#8211; began already in the 1890s to work with moving images.<\/p>\n<p>They produced weekly movies with the events and news of the week for the cinamas and by this have collected a huge archive of movies from between 1900 and 1970 when they stopped producing the cinema newsreel.<\/p>\n<p>The movies are now freely available for viewing on their website <a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishpathe.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">British Path\u00e9<\/a><\/p>\n<p>You can search for words like mandolin, ukulele or banjo to find movies with those instruments.<\/p>\n<p>Einige interessante Videos mit Mandoline habe ich hier einmal zusammengestellt:<\/p>\n<h4>Dyke&#8217;s Romany Mandolin Band (1938)<\/h4>\n<p>This video shows some nice mandolins, obviously Calace models, and also a big mandoloncello.
