The group is named after a location, an old guesthouse in Munich and was founded in 1978 by Heidi Zink and Richard Kurl\u00e4nder<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Das \u00bbFraunhofer\u00ab \u2013 eines der \u00e4ltesten und sch\u00f6nsten Wirtsh\u00e4user M\u00fcnchens \u2013 hat bei der Namensgebung der \u00bbFraunhofer Saitenmusik \u00ab im Jahr 1978 Pate gestanden.<\/p>\n<p>Hier haben sich <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fraunhofersaitenmusik.de\/de\/aboutus\/heidi.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Heidi Zink<\/a> und <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fraunhofersaitenmusik.de\/de\/aboutus\/richard.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Richard Kurl\u00e4nder<\/a> kennengelernt\u00a0 und die \u00bbFraunhofer Saitenmusik \u00ab gegr\u00fcndet.\u00a0 Zusammen mit dem Bassisten <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fraunhofersaitenmusik.de\/de\/aboutus\/gary.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Gerhard Zink<\/a> hat dieses Trio \u2013 zwischenzeitlich auch immer wieder mit dem Gitarristen Michael Klein zum Quartett verst\u00e4rkt \u2013 seit nunmehr drei Jahrzehnten den Status einer musikalischen Institution.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The group uses traditional instruments from the Bavarian folklore, especially the Hackbrett, a hammered dulcimer, the harp, the guitar, recorder and double bass.
