{"id":3152,"date":"2011-06-07T20:04:55","date_gmt":"2011-06-07T18:04:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mandoisland.com\/?p=3152"},"modified":"2017-09-06T13:07:20","modified_gmt":"2017-09-06T11:07:20","slug":"herbert-forrest-odell-method-for-the-mandolin-free-download","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mandoisland.com\/?p=3152","title":{"rendered":"Herbert Forrest Odell &#8211; Method for the Mandolin &#8211; Free Download"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"watch-headline-title\">I have just prepared a scan of the first book of the <strong>Odell Method for the Mandolin<\/strong> by <strong>Herbert Forrest Odell<\/strong> (1872 &#8211; 1926) and added it to my homepage <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mandoisland.de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">mandoisland.de<\/a> for free download.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Herbert Forrest Odell<\/strong> is mainly known as the publisher of the famous magazine <strong>The Crescendo<\/strong> which was published in Boston between 1908 and 1933.\u00a0 Odell had studied the mandolin in Paris with Pietrapertosa in 1895.<\/p>\n<p>The only video that I have found is an arrangement of a Jota by the Spanish composer Enrique Granados, arranged for mandolin ensemble by Herbert Forrest Odell.<\/p>\n<h2>Jota &#8211; Enrique Granados<\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>The Louisville Mandolin Orchestra, under the direction of Bob Elkins, performs Jota, Danza #6, from Twelve Dances for Piano by Enrique Granados and arranged for mandolin ensemble by H.F. Odell.
