Some years ago I have already made some research about the tunas and estudiantinas. Tunas are groups of students who play mandolin, bandurria or guitar and sing. Many universities in Spain, Portugal and in South and Middel America have tunas. But even in the Netherlands and Germany you can find some tunas.<\/p>\n

A tuna from Portugal – Azeituna \u2013 Tuna de Ci\u00eancias da Universidade do Minho<\/a><\/strong> – has just visited Freiburg where I live and has played one or two concerts here.<\/p>\n

This tuna was founded in 1992 and is a very active group. They have travelled to Brazil, Poland and some other countries, and they have produced several CDs. And since 1993 every year a competition for tunas has been organized, the<\/p>\n

Celta – Certame Lusitano de Tunas Acad\u00e9micas<\/h2>\n

The CELTA XVII took place in Dec. 2010:\u00a0 http:\/\/www.azeituna.net\/celta\/<\/a><\/p>\n

A Azeituna \u2013 Tuna de Ci\u00eancias da Universidade do Minho<\/a><\/strong> surgiu de um grupo de amigos, estreando-se oficialmente em Maio de 1992 nas Monumentais Festas do Enterro da Gata, apadrinhados pela Tuna Universit\u00e1ria do Minho. Desde cedo estabeleceu-se uma rela\u00e7\u00e3o de proximidade com a Tuna Acad\u00e9mica da Universidade Lus\u00edada do Porto, que resultou na gemina\u00e7\u00e3o das duas tunas em Maio de 1994. Nos anos seguintes a Azeituna realizou um grande interc\u00e2mbio cultural com a Irlanda que resultou no aparecimento da primeira tuna nas ilhas brit\u00e2nicas, a Preservatuna \u2013 Tuna Universit\u00e1ria de Cork. Em 1995 foi oficializada a emprima\u00e7\u00e3o com os Jogralhos \u2013 grupo de jograis da Universidade do Minho.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
