I have uploaded a new booklet with sheet music to my homepage www.mandoisland.de<\/a> (free download). This is a booklet with title Repertorio del Mandolinista<\/strong> which does contain opera melodies, marches, mazurkas, polkas and a tarantella. It was published in 1899 by Carisch & J\u00e4nichen as vol. 18 of this series with popular melodies for the mandolin.<\/p>\n

The second piece in this booklet is based on the aria Fra poco a me ricoveri<\/strong> from Lucia de Lammermoor<\/strong> by Gaetano Donizetti<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

I have found many videos of this aria. The first two videos are historic recordings of this aria. The mandolin version is almost exactly transcribed, but it is shortened a little bit at the end. For me it is very useful to listen to those videos to be able to play the melody in the right mood with all the tempo changes and fermatas.<\/p>\n
