{"id":1313,"date":"2010-06-16T14:21:46","date_gmt":"2010-06-16T12:21:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mandoisland.com\/?p=1313"},"modified":"2021-07-04T10:54:47","modified_gmt":"2021-07-04T08:54:47","slug":"the-pastoral-fantasy-1975-for-mandolin-orchestra-by-hiro-fujikake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mandoisland.com\/?p=1313","title":{"rendered":"The Pastoral Fantasy (1975) for Mandolin Orchestra by Hiro Fujikake"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Hiro Fujikake<\/strong> or <strong>Fujikake Hiroyuki<\/strong> &#8211; which is the proper name in Japan &#8211; is one of the most important composers of Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He has won several prices, the following is an excerpt from the Hiro Fujikake Fan page <strong>The Fantastic World of Hiro Fujikake<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Since his university days he has won lots of prizes for his composition work. Of all the prizes he received, the biggest is the <strong>Grand Prix of the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition of Belgium<\/strong> awarded for his symphonic work &#8220;The Rope Crest&#8221; in 1977.<\/p><p>Some of the others are: the Ongakunotomo Composition Prize for &#8220;Two Poems for Chorus&#8221; in 1970, the second prize of the NHK Mainichi Music Competition for &#8220;Threnody&#8221; in 1974, the All Japan Band Association&#8217;s Test Piece Composition Prize for &#8220;Concertino Overture&#8221; in 1975, <strong>the Japan Mandolin Union Composition Prize for &#8220;Pastoral Fantasy&#8221; in 1975<\/strong>, the first prizes of the Sasagawa competition successively for &#8220;Nostalgic Rhapsody&#8221; in 1975 and for &#8220;Chaconne&#8221; in 1976, the Japan Symphony Foundation&#8217;s Composition Prize for &#8220;The Song of Spring&#8221; in 1990.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&#8220;Pastoral Fantasy&#8221;<\/strong> is very popular in Japan and is played by many mandolin orchestras.
