The Good Lovelies – “charming three-part harmonies”

In my German blog I have already written about the Good Lovelies – three women from Toronto who play and sing. A one hour show with this trio was available as Canada Live podcast:

This week, the Good Lovelies blend charming three-part harmonies with bluegrass. This Toronto trio brings folkpop and fun to Montreal.

The Good Lovelies – Caroline Brooks, Kerri Ough und Sue Passmore – just had their 3rd birthday as a band, and they have just released a special christmas CD “Under the Misteltoe”.  So the set of the podcast does obviously include christmas songs from this CD.

Included in the set is also their song “Lie Down” which can be found in the following official video:

The style of the Good Lovelies includes elements from folk and bluegrass, with mandolin, guitar, banjo, ukulele – but the main component of their sound are the fantastic three-part harmonies that remind to the music of the Andrews Sisters.
